NOVA Elevators Introduces Vocal Suite

This touchless, voice-controlled home lift system allows owners to operate hands-free.

Vocal Suite is NOVA Elevators’ hands-free system for home lifts that can be fully operated via voice and, thus, allow lift owners to avoid contact with surfaces, the Bologna, Italy, manufacturer of complete home lift systems recently announced. Vocal Suite aims to satisfy the needs of today’s and future customers by developing useful, practical, safe solutions that look at the future of smart homes.

In addition to private homes, the multimedia touchless home lift is particularly suitable for small blocks of flats, office buildings and healthcare facilities like rehab centers. But Vocal Suite is a new generation home lift and a technological aid “with the potential to transform the vertical travel into an interactive experience,” according to the company. Says NOVA Elevators CEO Fabrizio Nicoli:

“Your hands are absolutely free to do more important things. Vocal Suite allows [the resident] to call the home lift and operate it, activate the alarm bell, customize the call with a ‘secret keyword,’ add bespoke background music or ask the system for the latest news, weather forecast and more. When the COVID-19 pandemic exploded, we had already been working on this solution for several months. Vocal Suite was not designed for the virus, but its main feature — no contact with any surface — has made it extraordinarily suitable for the unfortunate situation.”

Technical information

To install Vocal Suite, the customer needs a Wi-Fi connection (at least three bars of reception) with 2.4-GHz band frequency and DSL or optical fiber internet connection. Vocal Suite is available for every type of suite lift installation with automatic operation, both at landings and in cabins. The touchless home lift is available with reserved call to replace the mechanical enabling key at landings and, upon request, a bespoke voice call to activate the lift for every guest can be included. The voice-controlled system is available for up to six landings in four languages (English, German, Italian and French). In the retrofit version, Vocal Suite can easily be implemented on existing Suite Lift installations. The standard entertainment set includes music, news and radio, weather forecast and traffic news.

NOVA Elevators’ engineers are continuously working on ideas to widen the company’s product portfolio, strengthen product reliability and match new customers’ needs. Field installers and maintainers are trained at NOVA headquarters, and all NOVA products are available with hydraulic or electric drive, with small dimensions, reduced energy consumption and minimum environmental impact.
